The purpose of Cornerstone Bible Church is to glorify God as we work with all of the energy that He gives us to present everyone to Him perfect in Christ Jesus (Col. 1:28-29). 

As part of an ongoing assessment of the various programs our church offers, we have discussed whether Sunday School remains profitable to the church body and those that participate. We asked ourselves, is this really serving the purpose of our church?  After much thought and discussion we agreed that, when done correctly, Sunday School is a key teaching time that can be of maximum value if we are thoughtful to ensure the classes offered are pointed specifically towards our church’s purpose. This teaching can be used to specifically highlight our beliefs and values while training and encouraging our body towards personal holiness. Therefore, the leadership has decided to continue to pursue the idea of Sunday School as a way to serve the purpose of Cornerstone.

In line with this new direction, the leadership has worked to narrow our class offering and promote those teachings that would help to present everyone perfect in Christ Jesus. In addition, to further align this weekly event with our church’s very specific purpose, we will no longer call this time “Sunday School”, but more appropriately call it “Core Training” since our intent is to train the saints and grow them through the teaching of the Word, so that they may be presented perfect (mature) in Christ Jesus. Classes will run on a 7-week cycle and will be designed to engage the attendees in study, discussion and active learning across our church’s core values: Truth, Genuine Spirituality, Community, Service and Missional Living.
